Implementing social compliance in garment factories, 2-days workshop

SMART Myanmar and implementing partner, the Myanmar Garment Manufacturers Association, are pleased to once again host a 2-day workshop on "Implementing social compliance." This session, part of the SMART Management Systems Lab Series, is designed to give a broad and effective overview on:

  • International requirements, especially focused on elements of BSCI 
  • Applying international requirements within Myanmar's legal context
  • Practice advice and solutions for handling grievances, preventing child labour, preventing excessive overtime, and numerous other topics.

SMART Myanmar has a team of 13 experienced factory assessors and trainers, including electrical and textile engineers, SA8000 accredited social compliance auditors, ISO 14001 lead auditors and chemical management technical experts. Thousands of managers, supervisors and workers from over 250 garment, textile and footwear factories have joined SMART's programs and workshops.

The 2-day workshop on April 29th & 30th will be held in Insein Township, Yangon at the MGMA's new training center on the campus of the Government Technological Institute (GTI). Participation is limited to 40 persons maximum, and registrations are being accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis. The total fee for the workshop is 100,000 MMK. This fee is inclusive of lunch.
